To evolve as an engineering school, IPSA recognizes the importance of integrating research more deeply into its core curriculum. This approach aims to better prepare graduates for innovation and foster creativity through a commitment to scientific and technological progress. Given the Institute’s specific focus, research at IPSA is applied to the fields of aeronautics and space, with a strong emphasis on promoting innovation through student involvement in research projects.

A RESPONSIBLE POLICY

In addition, IPSA’s scientific policy addresses societal and industrial challenges related to sustainable development, such as energy optimization, smart materials, and smart mobility. The school invests particularly in the design and development of intelligent systems (AI) and incorporates data science and decision-making technologies (data mining, machine learning, and deep learning) into its curriculum.

The Research and Innovation Directorate (DR2I) at IPSA oversees all research activities within the school. This is organized into four teams, each focusing on specific domains of expertise.

DEVELOPING RESEARCH

IPSA’s research development strategy is driven by four major objectives:

  • Training students in innovation through research IPSA aims to familiarize students with research and its processes, encouraging them to consider pursuing doctoral studies. To this end, the school has implemented the Research and Innovation Initiation Program (PIRI), which supports students throughout the engineering cycle.

  • Transferring the scientific and technological expertise of faculty researchers into teaching programs This is primarily focused on the engineering cycle and includes the active involvement of faculty researchers in updating course content and supervising specific projects initiated by student technical associations within IPSA’s Student Lab.

  • Contributing to knowledge development While modest in scale, IPSA's applied research in aeronautics and space strives to advance knowledge through scientific publications, participation in significant scientific events, and the management of dedicated projects.

  • Building networks to share resources IPSA actively engages in partnerships with industries, universities, schools, and organizations such as competitiveness clusters, to ensure mutual benefits from resource pooling.
