Leila Gharsalli
Teacher Researcher
Leila Gharsalli earned a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Bizerte, Tunisia, in 2010, followed by a Master’s in Mathematics, Vision, and Statistical Learning from ENS Cachan, France, in 2011. She then graduated and obtained a PhD in Image and Signal Processing from the University Paris Sud (Gif-sur-Yvette) in 2015. After her PhD, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the French Institute for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN) in Fontenay-aux-Roses (2015-2017) on the development of an expert system for optimizing internal radioactive contamination monitoring using a Bayesian network. She then undertook a second postdoctoral position at the French National Center for Space Studies (CNES) in Paris (2017-2019), where she worked on developing advanced optimization methods for the structural sizing of launchers. Currently, she is a Teacher Researcher at the Research and Innovation Department of the Polytechnic Institute of Advanced Sciences (IPSA). Her primary research interests include Bayesian inference for solving linear and nonlinear inverse problems, optimization problems and their applications, Machine Learning, and the application of mathematical and computational sciences in industry, particularly in the biomedical and aerospace fields.
