At the heart of our facility lies the Fablab, a state-of-the-art fabrication laboratory equipped with cutting-edge tools and technologies. Here, innovators and makers can bring their ideas to life, from rapid prototyping to advanced manufacturing. The Fablab is a collaborative space where creativity knows no bounds, providing the resources and expertise needed to turn concepts into reality. Our research division is committed to pushing the boundaries of knowledge and technology. With a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration, our researchers work on pioneering projects that address some of the most pressing challenges of our time. From artificial intelligence to sustainable energy solutions, our research initiatives are at the forefront of scientific and technological advancement.

Located in the vibrant district of Lyon Vaise, our center is strategically positioned to connect with the local and global innovation community. We believe in the power of collaboration and actively seek partnerships with academic institutions, industry leaders, and government agencies to drive innovation and economic growth. The startup ecosystem at the Ionis Group Innovation Center is designed to accelerate the growth of emerging companies.

We offer a comprehensive support system that includes mentorship, funding opportunities, and access to a vast network of industry experts and investors. Our goal is to empower entrepreneurs to transform their innovative ideas into successful businesses that make a positive impact on society.

Programs & Community Services

The IONIS Institute of Technology (I2T) promotes hands‑on learning and innovation through a range of programs hosted within its fablab ecosystem, including project calls and competitions, the Fab Academy training, and community initiatives such as Repair Cafés. These complementary formats offer students from EPITA, IPSA, ESME, and SupBiotech multiple entry points to design, prototype, and experiment collaboratively. Supported by advanced fabrication facilities and technical mentoring, participants develop practical skills in digital manufacturing while engaging in interdisciplinary approaches to real‑world challenges. Beyond technical training, these initiatives foster a shared culture of innovation and responsibility—encouraging creativity, collaboration, and sustainable practices through repair, reuse, and open knowledge. The I2T fablab thus acts as a catalyst for both learning and impactful projects within a collaborative innovation ecosystem.

Production Platforms

Our spaces combine cutting-edge fabrication and production capabilities, featuring a fully equipped fablab for rapid prototyping, an industrial workshop for advanced manufacturing, and dedicated video studios for content creation and promotional storytelling. These resources empower teams to design, build, and showcase innovative projects with professional-grade tools and media support.

Technological Labs (WIP)

Our technology labs cover a wide spectrum of expertise, offering specialized environments for innovation and testing. These include advanced drone systems for swarm coordination and aerial robotics, bio-production facilities for research and scalable manufacturing, immersive VR and mixed reality setups for simulation and training, and high-performance computing clusters for data-intensive projects. Each platform is designed to accelerate development, foster collaboration, and provide state-of-the-art tools tailored to the needs of cutting-edge industries and research domains
