Commitments and responsibilities

This User Charter defines the commitments and responsibilities required to access and use the I2T Fab Lab and Workshop facilities. It outlines the conditions of admission, essential safety rules, expected conduct, and mandatory reporting procedures. Users acknowledge that access is conditional upon proper training, adherence to authorization levels, and compliance with internal regulations. The charter ensures a safe, respectful, and responsible environment for all members of the I2T community.

I2T Space – User Charter

The i2T platform provides students and staff with access to:

A Fab Lab (3D printing, electronics, laser cutting, digital prototyping, smart materials)
A Workshop (woodworking, metalworking, CNC, MIG/TIG welding, and technical equipment)

Access to these spaces is a privilege that requires strict compliance with all safety and usage rules.

1. Conditions of Access

I acknowledge that access to the I2T spaces is subject to:

Validated registration
Mandatory safety training
Attribution of a skills passport
Compliance with defined authorization levels
Compliance with the specific internal regulations of I2T

I commit to using only the equipment for which I am authorized.

2. Safety Commitment

I commit to:

Wearing the required PPE according to the activity
Checking the apparent condition of machines before use
Respecting posted instructions and technical sheets
Never disabling or bypassing a safety device
Not working alone on dangerous machines without authorization

I remain present and vigilant throughout any operation.

3. Responsible Conduct

I commit to:

Keeping my workspace clean and safe
Sorting waste according to the designated streams
Not introducing unauthorized materials
Not using equipment under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or substances affecting alertness
Respecting other users and the I2T staff

It is forbidden to eat, drink on work surfaces, smoke, or vape in technical areas.

4. Mandatory Reporting

I commit to immediately reporting:

Any malfunction or anomaly
Any damage, even accidental
Any incident or accident

5. Responsibility and Insurance

I acknowledge:

That I am covered by personal civil liability insurance
That I am responsible for my actions within the limits of my authorization level

Any non‑compliant use may result in:

Suspension or withdrawal of the skills passport
Suspension of access
Internal disciplinary procedures

6. Annual Commitment

I declare that I:

Have read the complete internal regulations of the I2T platform
Have signed the present I2T engagement charter
Accept its terms without reservation
Commit to strictly following all rules related to personal safety, property protection, and access control
